If anyone has tried these, please let me know! I've been asked lately what would be a good rug for a family room, playroom, or breakfast room that will stand the test of children and four legged friends. I'm dying to try these tiles by FLOR. There is an array of patterns and colors to chose from, and these tiles can be (gasp) detached and cleaned!

AUGUST
Just got back from a very quick and disappointing trip to New Orleans. Rarely will you ever hear anyone say disappointing when describing a trip there, but we were cheering on the LSU Tigers at the BCS National Championship. If you follow football, you know why we were less than happy! ;). While there, the hubs and I walked past Restaurant AUGUST. A few years ago, we ate dinner there while in town for a family member's wedding. I wanted to visit that place because of the amazing chandeliers. Yes, the food by John Besh was spectacular, but the chandeliers are what really stuck out to me. As soon as we walked in, hubs rolled his eyes with a smile as he knew my drooling would begin;)

| This picture does not do these antique beauties justice. At night, the lights are dimmed way down and these girls are lit and sparkly. Not pictured is the exposed brick wall......along with the tall windows and thick moldings, this place is quintessential New Orleans. |

Big Girl Room
Getting so excited about a big girl room I'm working on! The room doubles as a guest room when family comes to town, so not only does it need a big girl bed, desk, reading nook, toy storage and a little bit (lots) of pink, it also needs to to be comfy for guests.

Christmas in the real South
My husband grew up in a very unique, beautiful and antebellum town called Natchitoches. It is the oldest settlement in Louisiana and home to many historic plantations, one of them owned by my inlaws. It is one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen and not just because of the decor, but the authenticity. Surrounded by 250 year old oak trees, and adorned with copper lanterns, it is truly a step back to the old South.

Christmas Time
The whole month of December makes me want to bake goodies, play music, light candles, snuggle with my kiddos in their pajamas, read books, light a fire, and open a bottle of red wine. Christmas time is the best. It is a month of magic and giving......and a month where your home gets "all dressed up"!
