It might be fitting that my first post is related to a cast member of Jersey Shore. If there is anything that annoys my husband more than the people on that show, its a new funky piece of furniture in our home that needs "something". I'm a mom. I'm a house wife. I live in a lovely family-filled community where the yellow dogs are a plenty and the parks are as green as Augusta National. My husband and I moved into our house a year ago. It was built in 1926 and we love it. I like to decorate. Actually, I love to decorate. Decorating our home shouldn't be that hard. Except that I love hunting for treasures, and like the "situation" below, I often find things at thrift stores or Salvation Army's that need love or tweaking. It makes my husband nutso. The below piece was compliments of the wonderful folks at Catholic Charities World of Goods Thrift Store in Dallas. $170. Research tells me that it is a Century Furniture Chin Hua Cabinet that is selling on Ebay for $2400. Hubs wants me to sell it and run. I LOVE this piece and love it more because I paid $170. So, the situation is....do I paint it or keep as is? Need this piece for dining room storage. And need it fast before someone uses it for firewood.

Definitely paint it. It has good structure, but it could be less...boardroom/mafioso. I love a good hunt. Good luck!
